The shovel features a 13-gauge heat-treated tempered steel head with aggressive, reinforced teethtwice as thick as a standard residential shovel. Its finished with a rugged Cardinal BK01 textured black powder coat, inside and out, to prevent rust and wear.
The high-visibility yellow fiberglass handle makes the tool easy to spot in low-light or high-stress conditions. It includes a 12-inch fiberglass core at the head connection to add strength where it matters most. A hollow storage compartment beneath the D-grip provides space for emergency supplies like matches, flint, or fishing line.
The solid polymer D-grip resists breakdown over timeno sticky rubber hereand tab lock pins make attachment and removal easy, even with gloves or in muddy terrain.
